All spent trying to install and use both Sphinx & HTK open-source voice recognition software.
Eventually I got Sphinx installed & working. It seems very inaccurate... all the demos I used returned wrong answers. Eg: 'Hello John'... returning value such as 'ah ah two'.

3 weeks in total were spent attempting to use, install & run this software.
